The Low Pro Push Bar Bumper fully boxes the factory frame for serious strength and winch-ready capability, while keeping the low-profile, OEM+ look that a bulky aftermarket bumper just can't match.
Every component is fabricated in-house at MMI in Orange, CA. The sheetmetal construction is laser-cut and CNC bent from HRPO mild steel, MIG welded into a single low-profile assembly. A DOM radius top tube, made from 1.75" x .120" wall tubing, is precision bent and mitered for a clean, seamless top rail. The bumper also ties into the two factory tow hook mounts on the bottom of the frame, adding an additional structural mounting point beyond the primary frame-boxing connection. A 3D-printed frame insert houses the crush sleeve at the primary mounting point and captures a flange nut for the secondary top-frame bolt — giving you a precise, repeatable mounting points.
Designed specifically for the 1996–2002 Toyota 4Runner (3rd Gen), using the factory chrome bumper from a 1996–1998 4Runner. Bolt-on extensions push the factory bumper forward to open up clearance for winches up to 9.5K, and may accommodate winches up to 12K with slight modifications. Some cutting and drilling is required during installation, so it's highly recommended this bumper be installed by a professional or someone with fabrication skills. MMI strongly recommends having mounting bolts checked after the first 100 miles of use.
Winch not included. Vehicles 99-02 must buy a steel bumper for years 96-98.
NOTE: This bumper ships in your choice of black powder coat or raw steel. Raw steel units will require a protective coating (paint, powder coat, or equivalent) before extended outdoor/off-road use to prevent surface corrosion.
